Unfunded Mandates for Local Municipalities

While balancing the state budget is a worthy cause, many local municipalities have felt like they footed the bill. Unfunded mandates were passed on to the local governments without the accompanying resources necessary to accomplish the tasks. 

Fortunately, under a new administration, the trend is beginning to shift and local leaders have a sense that state government is their partner in building a better Ohio. As your next state representative, I will guard against increasing the demands placed on local government without the financial support required to accomplish the goals.
